August 2008
Triennial inspired work.
Jo is working on a mosaic of Andy Tuohy's poster of the 18 Holes. 18 holes is one of the Folkestone Triennial exhibits by Richard Wilson, who has used the abandoned crazy golf course and reconstructed it as three beach huts.
Hopefully the mosaic will be completed in time to be shown at Andy Tuohy's exhibition at The Cube, Tontine Street, Folkestone open Friday 15 August and then weekdays till 26 September 10.00 - 4.30 and Saturdays 16 August and 20 September.

The Folkestone Triennial is now on and will run until 14 September. It contains sculpture, photography, film, installations, sound-work & performances inspired by Folkestone’s past, present and future.
All new work specially commissioned for Folkestone from internationally acclaimed and emerging artists. Presented in public spaces – the beach, the harbour, parks, the marine promenade and historic buildings. The must-see contemporary art event of Summer 2008.

May 2008
Jo is launching a series of competitions with the chance of winning one of her popular coaster kits. The competitions will run for the next four months. full details can be found here.

The updated lists of dates for Jo's one day mosaic courses at her Folkestone shop have just been added to the Folkestone Courses page. As always, these courses full up very quickly, so if you are thinking about booking please do not leave it too late.

Shops in Folkestone’s Old High Street are celebrating Valentine’s Day with a matching display of hearts in their windows to attract shoppers looking for gifts for their loved ones.
Jo Letchford Mosaics (43 The Old High Street) is taking it a step further by running a ‘How many hearts can you see in our window?’ competition. Entries to the competition, maximum one entry per person! should be made on a postcard with the entrant’s name, address, contact details and the number of hearts. The first 3 entries picked on Valentine's Day will each win a mosaic coaster kit.

There have been some minor updates to the site, photographs of Jo's most recent commissions have been added to the Commissions page. They were commissioned by Kent & Canterbury Hospital (funded by the League of Friends) and Chatham Grammar School. Simurgh, a beautiful fantasy bird is the latest piece of work to be added to the Gallery pages. Jo has also updated her biography to bring it up to date with the details of her shop and studio in Folkestone, full details can be read here. Finally, don't forget Christmas is approaching fast, check out Jo's range of kits that start at only £7.50 and go up to £35 and would make great presents for your artistic friends or relatives, check them out on the Kits page.

Jo's courses in the Folkestone shop are proving very popular and the first six dates for 2008 have just been added to the Folkestone Courses page. If you are thinking of taking one of these courses it is recommended that you book as soon as possible before they become fully booked. Also added this month is a new mosaic to the Gallery page, it is called Fish on a plate with lemon, please take a few minutes to have a look.
