Jo has just finished her latest project. The mosaic was commissioned by the Chartham branch of the national charity Stillbirth And Neonatal Deaths (SANDS), and will form the centrepiece of the Baby Garden memorial space in Ashford town centre. It was created by Jo in a way which enabled families to be actively involved in placing the tesserae in this lasting memorial. It was a moving and empowering experience for all those involved. The mosaic is currently being cast and should be in place in the garden from Easter. Thanks to photographer Graham Baker for allowing us to use his photograph of Jo working on the mosaic. February 2012 "My Mosaic Course with Jo Letchford was booked for me as a Christmas present from my daughter. It is the best present anyone could have bought me! My daughter and I both had such a wonderful day. Jo was wonderful, a delightful teacher with a witty sense of humour. She allowed us free expression in our work, which for us both is really important. She is inspirational and generous. We came away thrilled with our work. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in pursuing a new craft or hobby. She has an excellent display of her exquisite work on display. She has a good selection of tools, kits, tiles and books for sale. |
