Jo's latest commission has just been installed in the shop doorway at No 42 The Old High Street, Folkestone, Kent. The design was created by Clare Foster of Foster Gearing in Folkestone and contains many visual references to Folkestone.

September 2009

yourshepway has published another article about one of Jo's mosaics. Kate Curl and Rudolf Kremers who work at Retrotech in Folkestone's Old High Street have lost their dog, Nemo and they have asked Jo to make a mosaic with the hope that people would recognise Nemo from the picture. August 2009

Above you can see an image of Jo's latest mosaic. This has been installed in a garden in Kent and as you can imagine, the owners are very happy with it. It is in an area where they practice Tai Chi and they say that the mosaic helps with the atmosphere.

yourshepway recently ran an interesting article about a one of Jo's mosaics that has been installed in a shop in The Old High Street in Folkestone. The mosaic is used as a decorative cover to a manhole in the shop's entrance. It is one of two, giving the owner the option of changing the design when he wants. These manhole cover mosaics are the perfect solution for manhole covers situated inside on new conservatories in private homes, so why not cover up an ugly metal cover with a beautiful work of art? January is the time to make a New Year's resolution, why not learn an exciting new craft? Jo is running her ever popular mosaic making courses throughout the year. If you are thinking about coming along please book early as they do fill up fast.
Also throughout this month Jo is having a January sale with 10% discount on materials and mosaics. So why not book a course and stock up on materials now while they are being discounted? If you don't feel up to the challenge of making your own mosaic from scratch Jo has a range of easy to make mosaic kits and a wide selection of beautiful hand made mosaics for you to choose from.

Seasons greetings and a Happy New Year to all our website visitors! If you are looking to buy a present from Jo's shop please note that she will close at 4.30 on Saturday 20 December and reopen on Friday 2 January. After this, her opening hours will revert to the normal Wednesday to Saturday 10.30 - 4.30. Don't forget that you can buy gift vouchers from Jo, these can be used towards mosaics, tools and materials or even for one of Jo's popular mosaic courses.

Jo's mosaic Life Force is featured on the new CD-ROM "Mosaic Art 4", a collective portfolio of contemporary mosaic art created in 2008 by 761 artists throughout the world. 1365 original mosaics in all mosaic materials and styles on CD-ROM. Jo has just announced the dates of her courses for the first five months of 2009. They can be seen here. If you are thinking about coming along on one of these courses please book early as they do fill up fast and space is limited to six students on each course to enable Jo to give each person her full attention. Also with Christmas coming up a day learning how to make mosaics would make a fantastic gift for someone.

August 2008

Triennial inspired work.
Jo is working on a mosaic of Andy Tuohy's poster of the 18 Holes. 18 holes is one of the Folkestone Triennial exhibits by Richard Wilson, who has used the abandoned crazy golf course and reconstructed it as three beach huts.
Hopefully the mosaic will be completed in time to be shown at Andy Tuohy's exhibition at The Cube, Tontine Street, Folkestone open Friday 15 August and then weekdays till 26 September 10.00 - 4.30 and Saturdays 16 August and 20 September.
